PPL - West Branch Long W/ 3 loops + 7:00
Ran with little sister Shannon. Worked Hills and ran back to her. Added in Braile.
Felt pretty good. I need to stop taking consecitive days off. I need to make it a rule to only miss one day at a time.
It is nice having a family that runs, I always have running partners. Three sisters and a brother in law that run. My older sis ran Boston in 2006 (3:21:22) and my two lil’ sisters run for Bloom U. and I coached in HS. Running partners are key to successful running after college I feel. It is hard to get myself out there day in and day out by myself… so thanks to all my running partners.

It was one of those days were I put off my run until late into the night and just get a couple in. Upside is… I didn’t feel like an old man running tonight. Hopefully I can get a good long run in tomorrow afternoon during nap time.

July, Auguts - Pile on as many miles as my body can handle with a long run every week. Hopefully I hit some 16+ runs and keep my mileage in the 60-80+.
September, October, November - Assistant coach for a local college cross country team. A hit on my mileage, but hopefully I get some quality hill workouts in and some tempo type runs. Plans are to keep running a long run 16+ once a week.
December, January - Back to the basics - running many miles and many long runs. Hopefully 80 mpw+ and 18+ milers every week.
February, March - Some more speedy stuff and tempo stuff with the track team. Keep running those long runs.
April - Taper
This is my general plan for the next 9 months. I hope I can stick with it and be in shape to run between 2:35-2:40. My PR is 2:36:36 and my last was 2:42.
If you have any Boston experiences or tips you want to share, please let me know.

Pushed Alyssa and Kara in stroller to 2 mile mark on Truckenmiller Drive. They ran a little bit and then ran back to Pick’s farm to get some corn and then ran home. They seemed to have a lot of fun on this run.

I’ve qualified for Boston last fall and was not planning on running it. Some things have changed and I have more flexibility in my schedule to run a marathon on a Monday. My running has slowed more than it should have in the past two years and I need some motivation to go out for those 10:00 PM runs when all I want to do is go to bed.
I’m very excited about it but still hit those weeks where I struggle with motivation and just feel out of shape and old. 9 months to go and many more miles to run.

I’ve been using another log up for the past 4 years or so and it has been just taking off line… good thing I’ve been backing it up with a paper log like I’ve had for the past 13 years. I found this site and thought it might be fun and supportive. As you all know, it is not easy getting out the door some days to do my workout and I think this site will be very motivational.
I started it last night and somebody already posted a message asking me about Boston. I’ll get to that soon… I’m looking forward to keeping up using the log and maybe back tracking a bit to fill in my mileage for the year. My goal is to get July filled in at least and I’ll work from there.
Thanks for the support. I’m just figuring out all the uses of this site… is there a way to track mileage on shoes??? That would be very helpful and is included on most logs I’ve looked at? Good luck to you all for reaching your goals.
