2:33, 2:28, 2:28, 2:28, 2:28, 2:30 first 3 in trainers, 2nd 3 in spikes to get a feel for spikes.  This is my 10k guys goal pace for their 5k next weekend and it felt pretty controlled (not easy, but controlled).  My left calf is a little tight from wearing the spikes on the last 3.

35* On and Off Rain.  Felt OK.  Planning on 800 repeats with the boys tomorrow.  I hit my mileage goal for the month already… next month will be a little harder…good thing it is a leap year.  It’s hard to believe there are only about 80 days left to train before Boston.  I watched the duel in the sun today on youtube.  motivational there.

treadmill run

7:10 am. 2 hour delay this morning because of ice so I took advantage of it and got a nice run in. 9 miles. 62:12. finished last 1/2 mile @ 6:00 pace. I needed this day for running, because my mileage is going to take a hit at the end of the week.

20 Miler

20 miles. 2:20:24. 6:07 pace…faster pace than my last marathon (6:11 pace). Good sign that things are working there way towards a PR in April. When out in 64:10 and back in 58:14. Out is more up hill, but gradual. Can roll pretty good on the way back. This is my best long training run ever…much better than my long runs training for my first marathon. I do have a couple of guys to run with, that helps. Had to run the last 12 by myself today. 37*. My quads went numb because of the cold or running too hard the last 6 miles or so. That is an odd feeling to push through.

Old Man Run

30* 7:30 AM 5 miles, 40:00 minutes. Started at 7:00 minute pace and finished about 9:00 pace. These are the days that remind me that I’m not 25 anymore. I’m not sure if I felt so bad becasue of the time in the morning, the mileage for the week or the little bit of acohol I had the night before. Probably a combination of all 3. Long run due for today.

Morning Run on the Treadmill

4 miles 29:10 7:18 pace. Nice morning run. Felt pretty good actually. Finished with the last quarter mile @ 6:15 pace and felt pretty smooth. My 4 year old woke up and came down to cheer me on for the last 1/2 mile and told me I was running ‘fast’. That’s good for the self esteem.
