31* No Wind. Clear Sky. Awesome night for a run. My first night run in awhile…I really enjoyed it. I headed out the door to get an easy 6 and got a comfortable 10 in instead…yeah. I still don’t feel great yet, but maybe this is the type of run I needed to get myself out of the slumps. I got faster the entire run.
Tomorrow I’m planning on running a 5k on the track against some young college boys…I’m going to have to show them how us veterans do it. I probably ran a little too far tonight for a proper pre-meet…but I gotta take advantage of the good weather and the good legs.
I’m going to go stretch good and shower up.

I went to go see Horten Hears a Who with my kids tonight. I ran first of course and then went and ate popcorn and drank soda. The kids loved the movie…especially my 4 year old…I think she was proud of herself for understanding that Horten was talking to little people that live in a speck. The movie was much better than my run.
I ran to the in-laws-house for chicken noodle soup. It was nice having a destination when I felt like crawling into bed and taking a nap. It’s amazing how much worse I feel when I’m running low mileage compared to when I’m hitting 70-80 miles per week. I’m going to have to pick it up again next week I think. My knees ache more, feet hurt and muscles are tight…I’m going to have to do a good run on Sunday just to get my confidence back again.
I need to start taking care of the details over the last 3 weeks. More push ups and crunches. More sleep. Less junk food. More stretching. Something speedy (strides or miles or something faster than race pace).

I received my Boston card and booklet in the mail today…I guess it is pretty close now. I’m finally starting to feel a little better with today’s run, but not as well as I have for the past couple months. I’ve just been feeling tired and run down the past 4 days of running. I think I turned a corner today. I ran about 7 miles+ 3 x400m @ 72 seconds +5 minute cool down. The 400s really seem to do something for my legs. They felt so much better afterwards…I felt like I could run much longer after but decided to stay conservative today and hopefully get a really good run in tomorrow.

I felt like an old man out there today. It was a perfect day to run….50 degrees and sunny with a slight breeze. Too bad I didn’t feel better. I’ve learned to listen to my body and just took it easy today. I was hoping to get a big week in this week, but it’s time to be smart. I should get some good rest tonight and be ready to run some miles tomorrow hopefully.

50* and Sunny. A nice run with one of my sister’s friends. After the Easter Egg hunt, I asked one of my sister’s friends if he wanted to go out for a run here…and he accepted. It was a good run. Time to go to Easter party #2.

It was going pretty good for most of the run. I really struggled the last 3 miles (felt like 8 minute pace…but I’m not sure). 33* Sunny and a slight breeze. It was a nice day for a run. I will probably do some 16s and 18s over the next month, but nothing over 20.
