Me
I have been running since about 1990 and have logged over 26,000 miles. I ran track and cross in high school and college and continue to enjoy the competition, even though I’ve slowed down by a couple minutes in the last few years… I still have hope that I can regain my previous best in the marathon.
I’ve been married for 8 years and have two little girls (4 & 3) and a little boy. I enjoy spending time with my family and just hanging out with my kids.
I coached high school track and cross country for 7 years and now I am a part-time assistant coach at a local college. I have enjoyed sharing my pashion for the sport and teaching these young athletes the value of hard work. There is no better sport out there to show young student athletes that if they work hard consistently that they will improve.
Like most of you, I am an adult with a family and sometimes find it difficult to get my run (workout) in for the day so I have set up a goal. I decided it is the right time in my life to run the Boston Marathon and to run it well. My goal is 2:30-2:35. Hopefully my training goes well over the next few months to get me where I need to be on April 21, 2008!
Good luck to all of you as you all reach for your goals and set plans to attain them. May your running (etc.) be a metaphore for the rest of your life.
Thanks for the support you have given me so far. Kip
