New York City Marathon Stuff
My Training Plan for NYC 2010
1. Basics - with a full time job and family the basic plan is simple. Run as long as I have time and energy for. Run as fast as I can that day and not worry about tomorrow unless I have a specific workout planned.
2. January - March - 300 miles each month here with long runs every other week. Streak for these three months and work on my general strength and some leg turnover.
3. April - May - Maybe keep the streak alive if things are going well. Not going to worry about the streak or the total mileage at this point. If things are going well from the previous 3 months, I’ll keep it rolling…otherwise back down a wee bit to get ready for some good summer mileage.
4. Summer - Planning on my best summer ever. Hopefully a lot of 80 and 90 mile weeks along with several 18 milers. Will probably stay away from the 20 milers for the most part. I might sneak one here once in awhile. But just looking to crush the mileage.
5. September - October - November- Follow a good plan with a lot of race specific training to get me ready to finally break 2:30 for the first time ever. a lot of 5:39 pace. I’ve run that pace for a couple marathons for the first half (MCM and NYC) and feel pretty confident that if I train for it…I can hang onto it.
6. December - Enjoy being with my family!

It seems more crowded and have a lot more turns than Boston. But does seem flatter.
